KISHORE VAIGYANIK PROTSAHAN YOJANA (KVPY) is a well-known nationwide scholarship programme that promotes the scientific minds by providing great financial assistance for students who aim for pursuing a career in the field of Basic Sciences. This programme is funded by the Department of Science and Technology under the Government of India.

Important Dates for KVPY:

Being well prepared for any task is always recommended. At Mathongo, stay updated with all the important dates regarding different events of KVPY 2019. According to the official website the last date to apply for KVPY is Aug 20th. The exam for all the streams (SA/SB/SX) is going to be held on 3rd of November. The results would be published by the 3rd week of November (tentative).

Eligibility Criteria

KVPY have kept certain methods to control the number of students who are eligible for appearing the examination and availing the scholarship. It is a must for every student to check the eligibility criteria once before the apply for KVPY 2019. All the students must note that they should be a citizen of India and must be willing to study within India to avail the scholarship offered by KVPY. Any student who has opted for the Distance Education Programme would not be able to sit for the KVPY examination.

Application Form and Admit Card

Application for KVPY 2019 has been released on the official website since July 8th 2019. Final Date for submission of the application is 20th Aug. Admit Cards for KVPY 2019 as mentioned above will be available from the second week of October. As the official date is still not released over the official website, it is recommended for all the applicants to visit mathongo.com frequently for latest updates. Luckily the last date for downloading the Admit Card has been extended to 3rd November, that is until the day of examination. All the students are required to carry they admit cards with them with a Photo Identity Proof, else they won’t be allowed to enter into the examination hall.

KVPY Syllabus and Important Topics

Even if there is no accurate syllabus available at the official website but we have tried our best to provide you with the detailed syllabus from taking the statistics of occurrences of different questions from previous year question papers and detailed shared by them. The syllabus slightly differs for all the 3 streams SA, SX and SB but we have tried our best to differentiate among them by giving you specially curated syllabus by our experts.

KVPY Marking Scheme

Through KVPY they have tried not only to test the academic excellence of students but also to check their presence of mind. To test their abilities, they have divided the whole exam into two different parts for all the 3 streams. Giving different weightage of marks for different parts, they have tried to test the decision-making capabilities of the students. KVPY Exam Pattern

As you know KVPY is conducted in 3 different streams, SA, SB and SX. They have kept the pattern different for SA and SB/SX to test the adaptability qualities of students. The exam consists of 4 subjects: Physics, Maths, Chemistry and Biology.

They Have made compulsory so SA students to appear all the subjects, while students appearing SB and SX are free to choose any 3 subjects from the above 4. They have divided the whole exam into two parts, out of which questions from 2nd part hold more weightage. In both, the parts 1/4th of the total marks of the question is deducted if its done wrong. Consisting of a total of 100 marks the students are judged not only on the basis of Academic Skills but also their Presence of Mind.
