KVPY 2019 Notification – Exam Dates & Exam Pattern
Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana which is actively providing an opportunity for students to receive scholarships up to the pre-Ph.D. Level. Being Conducted by IISc Bangalore for students of class 11th, 12th and 1st year Undergraduate BSc. Students, they have tried to provide utmost facilities to motivate students into taking research career in Science after their boards.
It is Mentioned in the official KVPY website that this time the examination is going to be held in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode on November 3rd, 2019. The application form for KVPY 2019 was released by IISc Bangalore on July 8, 2019. They have mentioned that the last date to apply is Aug 20. Consisting of 3 different Streams:
SA: For students in Class 11th (Having Science as Their Subject)
SX: For students in class 12th (Having Science as Their Subject)
SB: For students in 1st year of their Graduation Pursuing Basic Science
In each of the above streams it consists of 4 sections of Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology. Their main aim is not only to lure students into pursing Basic science in future but also to ensure the proper growth of scientific minds among the students for research and development purposes.
They have slightly changed the pattern for SA and SB/SX, while Students appearing for SA must appear all the sections, students appearing for SB/SX need to attend any 3 of the above sections. Interestingly, even after the pattern differs but the total marks remain 100.
KVPY Exam Pattern
There is no accurate syllabus available at the official website but we have tried to provide with the syllabus from taking the statistics of previous year question papers and detailed shared by them. The KVPY syllabus slightly differs for all the 3 streams SA, SX and SB.
SA: Consists of all the concepts taught up to class 11th including some important concepts of class 12th .
SX: Consists of all the concepts taught up to class 12th . As the students need to appear for any 3 sections so the questions become more conceptual from certain important topics.
SB: Consists of all the concepts up to 1st year. Most of the time the syllabus remains same for both SX and SB but the pattern and difficulty of the questions differ.
KVPY Admit Card
KVPY Admit Cards as mentioned above will be available from the second week of October. The exact date is still not declared over the official website. The last date of downloading the Admit card is till the KVPY 2019 exam on 3rd November for all the different streams. As the Admit card acts as an Identity proof to authenticate it, the candidates must carry a photo identity proof with them while entering the examination hall. Without the Admit cards, the candidates won’t be allowed to enter.
